September 29 Update
Dear Senior Honors Choirs,
Thank you all for a great rehearsal last week. Not only did we create beautiful sounds together, but we had great conversations about interpretation, intent, and diving into the music. This week we will have Katie Herrington and Carrie Becker as our guests at the beginning of rehearsal to talk about Pappus House and Lanterns of Light, which is the event that we will be performing at the following weekend. As we prepare to welcome them to rehearsal, please take a moment to go through this letter that was sent to us by them about the event itself.
In preparation for that week, know that we will be performing the following pieces:
We Are The Music Makers
Bring Me All Your Dreams
We Remember Them
In Remembrance
As we are considering weather, safety, comfort, and venue, we will be wearing all black for this event. Not your uniforms, but all black, preferably if we all wear slacks or dress pants. Since it is outside in almost mid-october, this would allow you to wear a sweater/cardigan/long-sleeve shirt that would keep you warm during the event rather than our uniforms. We will discuss this more at length during rehearsal.
We will be providing transportation to AND from the event. Understanding that some families will already be at the event, we are asking that we all return on the bus to the church so that it is logistically easier to account for every student, and we can control dismissal once we arrive at the church. This also will allow students who drive to rehearsal to be able to leave their cars at the church until we are back.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!
Sincerely,
Carlos Casilla-Nova
