October 4 Update

Dear Senior Honors Choir,

Last rehearsal was very special as we welcomed Katie Herrington and Carrie Becker to talk to us about Pappus House and the Lanterns of Light event. I hope that hearing from them really emphasized why we are performing at such an event, and you can see how some of the music we selected this year was purposely selected for this event. If you missed Katie’s letter that she sent us, you can see it here

If you already have a black binder, please hole-punch your music and bring the following pieces in this order:

  • We Are The Music Makers

  • Bring Me All Your Dreams

  • In Remembrance

  • We Remember Them

If you do not have a black binder or a hole-puncher, you can borrow one from us before rehearsal, you will need to return it once we return from the event. Our dress code for this event is all black, preferably with slacks and black shoes. This will allow you to wear a cardigan or black jacket if needed, as it seems the weather will be pretty chilly that evening. Please come already dressed for the rehearsal. We will begin rehearsal at 1:30pm, and will break around 3:15pm for pizza before we board the bus and head to the event around 4:00pm. Please plan to be picked up back at the church after the event so that we can keep track of everyone.

Also, as we mentioned during our opening meeting we are most likely going to phase out of using Remind as our way of communicating our updates after this year, but this will be the last year we use it. If you would like to join our groups, follow the following directions for either the student or parent group:

Instructions for joining the Student Group

Instructions for joining the Parent Group

This will be the last time that I will send the update via email. The updates will be posted on the website on Wednesday morning at 8:00am. Wednesday afternoon you will receive a Remind message (if you join the group) with a direct link to the update.

Also, congratulations to Makenzie Draper for winning the free tuition raffle! (here is a video of the digital raffle)

I am looking forward to seeing you all this weekend, and for sharing our talents with the community at Lanterns of Light!

Sincerely,

Carlos Casilla
