Dear Senior Honors Choir,

It is very hard to believe that we are two and a half weeks away from our season finale! Our last concert was a very special one, and Jen Wagner posted this on her facebook page:

“Last night I had the pleasure of sitting in the audience and hearing for the first time in person, my setting of “Lacrimosa” being performed by the York Honors Choir conducted by my dear friend, Carlos Casilla… My favorite part was after the performance one of the singers told me: ‘oh my gosh! I loved your piece, every time I sang it, it was like it hit me in a whole new way’. yup - that one’s gonna stick with me! She made my night!”

I often think about what we do and how it impacts our audience. I am so thankful to work with students who are so thoughtful to share those kind words with Jen that evening. 

As we are wrapping up our season, we are already looking ahead to next year. I noticed that only two of you have registered for next year. If you haven’t registered yet, please take a few minutes to do so by going to our Registration Page on our website. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me. 

Senior Celebration Information
As I mentioned in my previous newsletter, we are very excited to offer a senior celebration event on the eve of our season finale! We hope that this event offers a special place to honor our seniors. 

The event will take place on June 1st at 7:00pm at Asbury United Methodist Church. We will start in the sanctuary with the senior solos, and then move to the fellowship hall for some appetizers and desserts. Everyone is invited to come, but we do need a head count for the food, so I will include a form to survey attendance from the rest of the choir next week. Seniors, please fill out this senior solo form if you are interested in performing. We will schedule a rehearsal with either Dr. O or myself before 7:00pm that evening. 

Season Finale Information
Our concert will be at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, June 2nd at 4:30pm. Tickets are available at the Appel Center website. Our call time for that day is 12:30pm. Please make sure to pack a disposable snack for that afternoon. More detailed information will be sent next week.
