February 5 Update
WHAT TO PRACTICE — due February 11
Most Urgent: Really focus on solidifying all pitches and rhythms in the two songs listed below. You should know them well enough that you could sing your part ALONE, not following someone else’s lead. You don’t need to have them memorized quite yet, just be able to sing them very CONFIDENTLY.
“Inveniam”
“Dreams of the Dreamer”
Songs that should be FULLY MEMORIZED by February 11th:
“Hine Ma Tov” (especially check accuracy on measures 29-36)
“Together”
“Hold Fast to Dreams” (review memory; this was due November 19th)
“Why We Sing” (review memory; this was due November 19th)
Songs that should be getting pretty close to fully memorized (bonus if you have them all the way!):
“All the Pretty Little Horses”
“Defying Gravity”
Continue reviewing and solidifying pitches/rhythms on the songs we’re singing with SHC.
SOPRANOS/ALTOS ONLY: “And I Can Sing”
LOWER VOICES ONLY: “Sing Out My Soul”
Full Recordings
As promised, below are full recordings of all of our songs. Click the song titles to listen.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Three of these recordings are NOT the exact same divisi that we are singing. For example, we may be singing SAB and the recording is SATB. I am sharing these recordings so you can get a better idea how the song will feel once we shape things and add any percussion parts. If you practice singing your part with these recordings, please know that if it is a different divisi, some pitches will be sung by other voice parts than in our version (like, maybe the tenors sing something the sopranos might sing in our version or maybe the bass/baritone line is totally different, etc.). If the divisi is not the same, be sure to sing your exact part from OUR VERSION of the song, not what you might hear here. If you are confused by these instructions, please do not use these recordings to practice this week; just use the regular rehearsal tracks you have.
“All the Pretty Little Horses” (with drum kit) - this is an SATB recording; we are doing SAB
“Defying Gravity” (with drum kit) - this is an SATB recording; we are doing SAB

“Hine Ma Tov” (with flute) - this is our exact version
“Hold Fast to Dreams” - this is our exact version

“Together” (with drum kit) - this is our exact version
“Why We Sing” (with drum kit) - this is our exact version (except we don’t do the descant); fast-forward to timestamp 2:17
