Dear Junior Honors Choir Members and Families,
May 20th Concert Review
Singers, you all did an excellent job at our concert on Saturday! I am very proud of the growth you have accomplished over this year and the dedication you have demonstrated to our choir. I am looking forward to performing with you one more time at the YCHC Finale concert!
YCHC Finale Weekend: Saturday, June 3rd – Rehearsal and Celebration
Freshmen-only Event: 12:00pm (see email for details)
JHC Finale Rehearsal: 2:00-4:15pm
Enter at the Philadelphia Street door of the Appell Performing Arts Center, and Logistics Coordinators will direct you to the rehearsal space.
YCHC 25th Anniversary Celebration: 4:30pm
All current singers, alumni, and families are invited to enjoy some food and fun at York Central Market House in celebration of our organization’s 25th year! It’s right next door to the Appell Center. (Attendance is encouraged but not required.)
Attire: Wear your YCHC t-shirt on June 3rd.
Candid Photos: We will have a photographer snapping candid shots of us during our rehearsal and the celebration.
Formal Photos: On March 12th, a photographer took formal photos of our choir. Each JHC singer will receive one 8x10 formal photo for free. These will be distributed at the rehearsal.
YCHC Finale Weekend: Sunday, June 4th – Concert
Location: Appell Center for the Performing Arts
Call Time: 1:50pm
Concert Time: 4:30pm (house opens at 3:45pm)
Uniform: Wear your concert uniform; make sure it is wrinkle-free. Wear your black closed-toe dress shoes. If you’re wearing a dress, wear black knee-highs/tights/pantyhose with your shoes; if you’re wearing pants, wear black crew socks (no ankle socks or no-shows) with your shoes.
Hair and Jewelry: Hair must be combed back away from your face. Jewelry should be limited (small stud earrings and small plain rings are OK, but no necklaces or bracelets).
Scents: Deodorant is a must. 😀 But, please avoid strong-smelling perfumes/colognes.
Water/Snack: Bring your water bottle! If desired, bring a small snack that can be eaten quickly.
Guests: Invite family and friends to our concert!!! Audience members can CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.
Summer Daytrip to NYC with JHC+SHC!
We are looking forward to our daytrip to NYC to see a Broadway show on Wednesday, June 28th! Soon, those who have signed up for the trip will receive a permission slip to complete and instructions for payment.
Summer Enrichment Opportunity
7th and 8th grade singers are invited to participate in the Middle School Honors Choir at this summer’s conference presented by the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. The event will take place at Messiah College, and the guest conductor is Anthony Trecek-King. This is not an event organized through JHC. We are just sharing information for any of our singers who may be looking for a one-day choral music experience this summer. For details, click here.
